About DH Hardscapes
DH Hardscapes is Darren's business, working out of the YO26 postcode west of York and covering the city and the villages around it.
How we work
Small team, one job at a time
DH Hardscapes specialises in driveways, paving, fencing, turfing and general garden maintenance. Darren runs the jobs himself and works on site with the team, so the person who quoted the job is the person laying it.
That is deliberate. On a lot of landscaping jobs the person who measured up is never seen again, and by the time something on site does not match the drawing there is nobody there who remembers the conversation. Keeping the team small means fewer jobs running at once, but the ones that are running get finished.
The work covers everything from a single fence run through to complete garden makeovers taking several weeks, and quite a lot of it comes from previous customers coming back for the next stage. One customer had a patio designed and built to blend into a twenty year old one, then had the summerhouse base laid, then came back again to have the tired tarmac drive dug out and replaced with a three car block paved drive with a full width drainage channel.
What that means for you
- You deal with Darren. From the first site visit to the hand over, not a sales rep and then a crew.
- A written price before we start. Itemised, so you can see what each part costs and change your mind on the spec.
- 100% recommended on Facebook. Seven recommendations, every one positive.
- Clean site, every day. Not just at the end. Materials stacked, tools away, paths kept clear.
- Fully insured. Public liability cover in place, certificate available on request.
- Waste carried away. Spoil, old slabs, packaging and offcuts all go with us.
The work we take on
From one fence panel to the whole garden
Hard landscaping
Driveways, patios, paths, steps, retaining walls, drainage and sett work. The heavy end of the trade and the part that has to be right first time, because nobody wants to dig it up twice.
Soft landscaping
Turfing, reshaped lawns, borders, raised beds and planting. Usually laid in around the hard landscaping once the levels and the drainage are settled.
Boundaries and structures
Fencing, gates, screens and decking. Often the last stage of a makeover, and the part that makes the rest of the garden feel finished.
